Homework

Mason has quite a bit of homework for 1st grade, but is doing a great job.   I try to ask him to do his homework when it is assigned and not procrastinate, hoping e can learn not to be a procrastinator in the future.

But this weekend, the parents had homework.  We had to build a bear for a "hug a bear" event.  We were given a mold to make our own bears.  Going to a arts and crafts store is not something I do often.  I left Michaels with everything needed to make two or three bears in case I needed to do over and one for Audrey.

It took an afternoon of sewing and I enlisted the help of my Mom, since she is much better and faster in the sewing department.  They kids helped with the design, chose their colors and helped stuff the bears.

All in all, a very fun activity for the 3 hours.  With what we spent in raw materials we could have purchased 8 stuffed bears from the store, but hey, these are homemade.  I was channeling Martha Stewart (not the felon side) so after the bears were done, I baked some chocolate chip zucchini muffins from scratch.  The kids actually really like them and we omit "zucchini" from the name, although Audrey saw me make them so she said to me: "I know your secret ingredient, it is zucchini."
