Bill got sparklers and fireworks that we set off before the show began. Chris had his hose ready and Bill set them off!
On July 4th, Bill and I ran a 5K in Louisville in the morning. It was hot and I was feeling dehydrated, not my best run (31:45). We watched the Brazil vs. Colombia match in the afternoon (good that Brazil won, but that referee was a joke to not assert his authority earlier). We barbecued at home at night and watched the Broomfield fireworks from my parents' balcony. It was a great view and we didn't have to fight the crowds, find parking or traffic afterwards.
On Saturday, we ran errands (Bill picked up the hockey equipment he needs for his hockey lessons starting later this month -another blog entry to come on that one). In the afternoon, we took the kids to the park to go biking. Mason started biking without training wheels last Summer but didn't have much opportunity to practice. His cousin left him a bigger bike and we donated his little one. The whole thing started with tears, but he didn't give up. At the end, he was loving it. Bill and I got some running in along side the kids biking.
On Sunday we went to the Hevers for dinner and I brought ice cream and Sundae bar ingredients. Both their boys play hockey, so we had a little game going in the backyard. Audrey did amazingly well for her first time playing, and now we are thinking we should find a league for her. It was a great weekend.
