Cirque du Soleil

Bill and I always try to see Cirque du Soleil when they come to town. In early October, I got an email announcing Saltimbanco was going to be in town at the new Broomfield Event Center (less than 5 miles from our house). It seemed like it would be a fun night out: my parents, especially my mom, wouldn't need to speak any English to follow and enjoy the show; Mason would be 5 months, sleeping through the night and with a set routine, so we could easily make babysitting arrangements; and the event center is so close, we are only a few minutes away in case of an emergency.

Our show was last night. Our friends Eric and Lisa, who are expecting a baby of their own in March, kindly offered to babysit Mason. We figured it would be a good "practice" night for them on what is ahead. We left a little after 7 for our show at 7:30, it only took us 10 minutes to get there via back roads, and we were back by 10:15. After just seeing KA in Vegas and compared to other Cirque du Soleil shows, Saltimbanco was average, but we enjoyed it and I am glad we did it.

Lisa and Eric did great. Mason was sleeping by the time we got home, although we hear they got to experience about 20 minutes of crying before they fed him. I left them feeding directions and said he would eat about 8 pm, but fail to emphasize that is was OK to feed him if he fussed before 8 - oops.
