"Why?"

We are in the "Why?" phase. For everything we say, Mason asks "Why?" and that has been going on for at least a month, but I've been too busy answering "Why" questions to blog about it. I normally try to answer the first few "Why?" questions, but quickly run out of satisfactory answers.

"Mason, Gong Gong and Bu Bu are going to China"
"Why?"
"Because they are going to visit their friends and family"
"Why?"
"Because that is where their friends and family are."
"Why?"
"Because their friends live in China"
"Why?"
"Because that is where their friends live, just like we live in the US"
"Why?"

Pause. Regroup. New strategy, answer the "Why?" question with another question.

"Why do you think Gong Gong and Bu Bu are going to China? Do you think they will bring you something from China?"
"Yes, Gong Gong is going to bring moon cakes for me".

PS: Mason loves moon cakes. He has been eating them every day for the past few weeks. Moon cakes are typically made and sold around the weeks before the Moon Festival. This year that was on Sep 22nd. By now, all the moon cake (as least the one we like) are sold out and they won't be made again until next year. As we eat our last moon cakes, we've told him he needs to wait until next year. But he has hopes that Gong Gong and Bu Bu will be able to bring some back from China. :-)
