My parents have been with us since Mason was born. We've had a ratio of four adults to one baby and one dog for 4 months. It has been wonderful! My parents are not only watching Mason during the day as Bill and I work, but also take care of him in the weekend mornings, so we can get some extra hours of sleep, help us keep the house clean, shop for groceries, cook meals for us, help with laundry, take Sasha on walks, etc... The large house has also made living together not an issue. We have been spoiled!!
But, we are going to get a taste of parenthood the way most of other parents do it, on their own. My parents are leaving for Brazil this Saturday for 3 weeks. Bill is going to take his second week of paternity leave next week, we have a nanny coming for the 2nd week, and Bill's mom Helen and Jack are coming for the third week. I know we still have it good!
My co-worker introduced us to a show called "Jon & Kate plus 8". A reality show about this family with 2 6-year old twins and 6 2-year olds! After watching a couple of episodes, we realize we have nothing to complain about and we don't know what being tired means. Just watching the show gives me a headache.
