The weather has been unusually warm this year. It was in the 80's last week. I had to look for shorts and t-shirts that I had already put away, we went to the parks, and grilled in our backyard. Our lawn is winterized, but you couldn't tell by the green and growing grass. The only hint of Fall is with the leaves on the ground. Where did the rest of Fall go?
For weeks now, we have been waiting for the end of Daylight savings. It is difficult enough to get up so early in the mornings with the kids (normally around 6:30 AM), it is even harder to get up when it is dark out! Without kids, Fall Back means you get to get sleep an extra hour on Sunday morning after the time switch happens. With little kids, Fall Back means you are getting up at 5:30 AM instead of 6:30 AM! It's taken 2-3 days to adjust, but the kids slept until 6:45 AM (Audrey) and 7:30 AM (Mason) this morning.
And Fall is back this week. The high today is supposed to be 51, 44 tomorrow, and 36 on Thursday. Making up for lost time...
