Christmas Season is here!

How did the year go by so quickly? I am glad we didn't even fold our Christmas tree this year, we simply placed it in the basement. During the week of Thanksgiving, we set up the tree, Christmas decorations, got the largest poinsettia from Costco, and set up the lights outside of the house. Yaya and Mimi worked on the gingerbread house with the kids (mostly Mason, Audrey just ate a few of the candies). We also took the pictures for our Christmas card, which are ordered, but not here yet.

This year, we had another deadline. Get the get the lights up before Santa arrives, not on Dec 25th, but his pre-visit. City of Westminster firefighters have an annual tradition of Santa visiting 40 homes. It is a lottery drawing, since everyone who knows about it signs up. I just found out about it by looking for Christmas activities online, 2 days before their deadline. After a few days, we got an email from Santa (yes, he is online!) that we got selected!! Santa was coming to our house on Thu 12/2 between 6 and 8 PM. We could have up to 10 kids, so we invited our neighbors (Connor and Meghan), Gavyn (Eric and Lisa's kid) and Otto (Pete and Syl's kid).

Unfortunately, I had a work trip to San Francisco and missed Santa that night. Santa and Mrs. Claus came in a firetruck, and didn't arrive until 7:50 PM. But the wait was worth it! The kids had a great time!!
