Big Boy Furniture

Mason was getting too big for his crib/toddler bed. We went out a month ago to check out a kid furniture store called Guys and Dolls. It is quite far from our house, but worth the drive as they have hundreds of beds from baby cribs to young adult furniture. We walked around and left the store with ideas on price and styles, but nothing picked out.

Our friends Henry and his wife Jocelyn are expecting their first baby, so we decided to get Mason his big boy furniture and pass on his crib and dresser. (Henry is the son of the Sushi Tokoro restaurant's owner, where we have been going to for years) Mason's crib is actually from Mimi Sandra's granddaughter Emily. It is a very nice crib, still in perfect shape and we are happy that someone else will be able to use it.

We ventured down to Guys and Dolls again, and by the time we got there both kids were asleep. We let them sleep with Bill in the car as I went in to look around. I found this one set we had seen the last time there, got the price and negotiated some before sending Bill in to close the deal. Mason has a new twin bed, trundle below it for any friends staying over (still needs a mattress), nightstand and dresser. He has a set of choo choo train sheets and batman sheets, with a nice soft navy blanket on top (I don't know why we bother, since he never stays under the covers).

Mason loves his new bed. We do too, as we can comfortably get on it to read him a book or two at bedtime.

We still need to get him a new lamp and wall art. Gong Gong is going to paint some new paintings for Mason's room.
