And so it rained most of Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday morning it was still raining. We were sure the game was going to be delayed or rained out. As I cooked potato soup and baked chicken for us and my parents (who were going to take care of Audrey as we went to the game), I kept checking the Rockies website and the WeatherBug site for the weather map. At 12:30 PM, Winston and Bill both called the stadium and they still said the game was on. We stopped by Sports Authority to get Mason a rain jacket. The smallest size their had on the Columbia rain coat we liked was a 10-12, looks like a poncho on him - he is set for a few years.
The rain stopped and the Sun even made a brief appearance during the first couple of innings. Not a drop of rain came down during the whole game. The Rockies hit 3 home runs, and there was a lot of hitting and scoring - good for little ones, vs. a slow and low scoring game. Mason wasn't sure about the game for the first 30 minutes, but then all the sugar we were giving him kicked in! He was all smiles and even started chanting "Let's go Rockies..."
