The weather was nicer than I imagined for Georgia in July. We did hit the 90s, even high 90s, but it was not too humid. The kids had a great time. Mason got to celebrate his 3rd birthday again with Nai Nai with a delicious cake, the kids had fun at the pools, water slides at the country club and on Yaya's boat. The kids slept in the same room at both Nai Nai's and Yaya's and they slept ok. In the mornings, one would wake the other up (Audrey's crying or Mason's bathroom trip).
Audrey got another ear infection by mid week. It was handy that Yaya was able to look at her ears during our tour of Yaya's work, and she was happier after a couple of days of antibiotics.
I tried not to over eat. After months of working out and being careful about my food, I didn't want to gain it all back in one trip. I love Southern food, and it is easy for me to go overboard on the trips back to Georgia, but I was able to stay good. Shawn, a newly certified kettlebell instructor, gave Bill and I a workout on Sunday. It took me a couple of days to recover from that! Bill is in great shape. He stayed for the full kettlebell work out and did another session on Monday. I think Shawn could see I was still exhausted from the previous day, so she didn't ask me to participate. Bill also went water skiing on Thursday and had two great runs, getting up on the first attempt both times. Yes, two was enough. I am glad there were no injuries, just a stiff back for the next two days. He wonders how he used to water ski all day when he was younger.
Taking toddlers to any type of pool/water activities takes preparation. There is a full hour of getting them dressed in swimsuits, shoes, swim diapers and diapers, packing snacks and drinks, getting towels, flotation devices, packing, applying and reapplying sunblock... and then you need to get yourself ready! We have a great floaty for Mason, but have tried different ones on Audrey, as she doesn't seem to like the one we had her in at the beach a month ago. With Mason, we need only to keep an eye on him, but he can get in and out of the water by himself. With Audrey, it is more hands on. But she does seem to love the water!
We took this opportunity to take new professional pictures of the kids. Here are a few of my favorites.

Yaya had been planning on making peach ice cream with Mason. They finally got to it on Friday, and everyone got to enjoy big serving of homemade peach ice cream that evening. But unfortunately, Yaya had too much and his gallbladder started acting up around 1 AM. Mimi took Yaya to the emergency room around 2 AM, and we didn't know they were gone until 6 AM next morning. Yaya was scheduled for surgery to remove his gallbladder the next morning, something aunt Shawn had just done a few months ago. Uh oh, it runs int he family. We packed up and went to the hospital to say bye to Yaya and Mimi before going to the airport. Yaya surgery went well and he was out by the time we got to the airport, and he was back at home by the time we got back to Denver.
We didn't take as many pictures as we would had liked of everyone we saw. And the pictures and videos we did take were captured by multiple people and devices (video cameras, cameras, iPhones, etc), so it will take time to assemble them all and share.
Now is back to work and back to school!
